Grand Canyon Storm

I recently went to Grand Canyon for the very first time. It was the first time that I saw nature’s beauty at a “grand” scale, and I am not talking about only the Grand Canyon, but also the winter weather that puts on a spectacular show in the desert. The sky becomes heavy with clouds, shaped into beautiful formations, the clouds get painted by the setting sun into beautiful works of art, extremely colorful and unique, a delight for the spectators. Below is a photograph that I just saw on the internet. It captures a little bit of what I have tried to describe above. The after-photo tries to do justice to what I saw in Grand Canyon myself.

Fishing In The Late Afternoon

I am not sure who took this photo, I found it on a site that had many different photos by different artists and all without any credits. I love this shot, not just for the story that it tells, but of the contrast between the two “worlds” and for it’s surreal appeal. Fishing has never looked so awesome.

Playing Cricket In Afghanistan

Who would have guessed that they play cricket in Afghanistan? Not me. I don’t really know the story behind this photo since I found it on a general photo site without any description. While the sepia gives the photo a late afternoon look, I think that the black and white version would be more dramatic because of the massive dust in the photo. I have given the photo a lot of contrast, which made the dust whiter. However, the contrast caused the players to be darker, almost like a silhouette. And that’s perfectly OK since I also had that idea in mind…the dark silhouette players against white dust.
